Nokia 6.1 Plus with 5.8″ Notch Display, SD636 SoC & Dual Cameras Launched in India
Back in May, HMD Global launched the Nokia X6 smartphone in China. It is the first ever Nokia-branded smartphone to embrace the notch display. After several rumors and leaks, the company now launched the same Nokia X6 as Nokia 6.1 Plus in India. With the Android-powered smartphones, the company has been offering sturdy build quality, stock Android UI, and faster software updates. Now, the new Nokia 6.1 Plus also joins the Android One family and will be receiving next two major Android updates along with monthly security patches.
Talking about the Nokia 6.1 Plus, the device comes with a metal frame and glass back body. On the front is the 5.8″ Full HD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) notch display with 19:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood is the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor coupled with Kryo 260 CPU and Adreno 509 GPU. The device offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There is also a MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage up to 256GB.
In the camera department, the Nokia 6.1 Plus sports 16MP + 5MP dual rear cameras with f/2.0 aperture and dual tone LED flash. On the front is a 16MP single selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. It is backed by a 3,060mAh non-removable battery and supports 5V/2A fast charging. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and will get the latest Android 9.0 Pie update very soon. Along with the rear-facing fingerprint sensor, the device can also be unlocked using face unlock feature. We can see the Nokia branding on the front and rear of the device.
Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and USB Type-C port. The Nokia 6.1 Plus with 4GB of RAM is priced at Rs 15,999 in India. It will be sold via Flipkart and Nokia.com starting August 30th.
