Apple Resumes 2017 iPhone X Production: Report

After the launch of the new iPhone XS and XR models, Apple had stopped selling its 10th-anniversary edition – the iPhone X. The Cupertino tech giant had tended to slash the prices of previous iPhone models every year instead of discontinuing them; however, that wasn’t the case for iPhone X. Anyhow, a new report had surfaced stating Apple has resumed production of iPhone X again to keep up the agreement made with Samsung.

According to The Wall Street Journal report, this unexpected move from Apple is to match up the agreement made with Samsung, since it is the sole OLED supplier to Apple’s latest iPhones including the iPhone X. Due to the lower than expected demand of the newly released iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max devices, the agreement made with Samsung about using a certain number of OLED panels isn’t being fulfilled.

Henceforth, to achieve this Apple is planning to start the production of cheaper iPhone X, since its already a year old, it will undoubtedly cut down the production costs when compared to newly released iPhones and can also match the deal made with Samsung, the report said.

This move from Apple is quite contrast cause reminiscing the past; Apple used to resume the production of older iPhones due to the increase in demand, for instance, iPhone SE and the iPhone 6 are still selling and are being assembled in our country.
