Blackberry Neon Android Smartphone with mid-range specs Photos Leaked
It was just about time, when we thought that the company wouldn’t be making any more smartphones based on Android OS, and we started seeing a bunch of devices from Blackberry. We have already seen a bunch of device rumors from the company now and adding on to those; the Blackberry Neon shows off itself in new fresh images way ahead of its launch date. Earlier there were reports about the FCC documents being leaked for this device, but no other info was given out.
Now we have new images of the device, and it appears to be a traditional Android running smartphone. Yes, there is no crazy slide-up keyboard coming up from the bottom or anything like that. Looking at the device, on the front, there is nothing except for the display and an 8-megapixel front facing shooter. The display is of 5.2-inches with a resolution of about 1920 x 1080. Under hood appears to be a Snapdragon 617 CPU alongside 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. At the back of the device, we have the camera module which is a 13-megapixel sensor. Inside the smartphone, there will be a 2,610 mAh battery.
Looking at these specs, the device not only appears to look like a traditional smartphone but is also likely to be more of an affordable as well. The Snapdragon 617 is not the best of SoC that we have seen in recent times, nor the smaller battery is going to be of any good when it comes to screen on time or overall performance. But again, this might be company’s plan to take the affordable market segment with this one as the previously launched Blackberry Priv is doing quite well in the market if not excellent. But again all these are just rumored specs and nothing is confirmed officially as of now. So we suggest you to take this info on the specs with a pinch of salt.
Also, the new Neon is likely to sport the 6.0 Marshmallow for software. However, it is not clear if the company will be calling it the Neon or something else when it officially launches, but as of now, it is referred as Blackberry Neon. Stay tuned for more info on this in coming weeks.
