Top 10 Smartphones of 1H 2016 in India, USA, China & the World acc to Antutu
From a time, when barely only a handful of smartphone used to launch, today we see ourselves confused with an entire array of smartphones from premium to an affordable range. There’s everything for everyone here, but it is not necessarily a good thing since there’s so much to look for and it only becomes difficult with these increasing numbers. So now it’s that time of the year again, where we reflect on the smartphones released in the first half of the year. So let’s take a look at the best ones and ignore the rest in the list of top 10 smartphones of 2016 by Antutu.
As mentioned earlier, the date to the statistics is from January 1st, 2016 to June 30th, 2016.
Global Standings
So let’s start with the Global Standings so that we can take a look at the best of devices from across the global and get a global perspective here.
Taking a look at the global standings, it is clear that the South Korean smartphone manufacturer Samsung is dominating the market with top four spots. The Note 5 Phablet launched by the company in the 3rd quarter is leading the list on top, followed by the Galaxy S6 flagships by the company. To our surprise, Xiaomi comes on the fourth position with its Redmi Note 3.
There was a time when smartphones from Chinese manufacturers were not so popular, and now, here we are in 2016 where a smartphone from a Chinese manufacturer is on top five. Also interestingly, this pushes the big players like the LG, etc. out from the top five spots. Meizu MX5, Metal, & LeEco 1S also managed to make the top ten list, which is again all Chinese manufacturers. Also note that brands like Apple, HTC, etc. are nowhere to be seen in the Global standings here.
Mainland of China standings
Moving on to the top ten list from Mainland of China, we see a similar set of brands on the list. This is again not a surprise as these brands also made it to the global standings and most of it came from China.
Here the top places are carved up by Xiaomi, MEIZU, and LeTV and again the South Korean smartphone Giant is back with the Galaxy S7. Xiaomi dominates this market here yet again with its Redmi Note 3, with Samsung and LeTv making it to 2nd and 3rd respectively. Huawei managed to enter the list in 7th position with its Mate 8.
The United States Standings
Now let’s take a look at the trend in the United States of America.
Taking a look at the list from the US, the story is completely different. Apart from the fact that the South Korean smartphone giant again dominates here as well, the rest of the list comes as a surprise. The Galaxy Note 5 and the Note 4, both of them, are on the top with the Nexus 6P and Nexus 6 following closely in the third and fourth place. The rest of the list is again dominated by the Galaxy S flagships, with OnePlus making a brief appearance at the end. Considering the fact that most of the Chinese smartphones don’t make it to US carriers, the list is not surprising.
India standings
Now let’s take a look at the standings here in India.
Taking a look at the list in India, here we see a mixed batch of smartphones from various manufacturers like OnePlus, Lenovo, etc. The list is yet again dominated by Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 3 which is closely followed by OnePlus 2 and LeEco (LeTv) 1s. Lenovo K3 Note is yet another budget offering from the company which is doing extremely good in this segment here in the country. Also if you notice, most of the devices fall under the budget category which is moving along extremely good in the country. And also India is first landing point of the smartphones from Chinese manufacturers, so this could be the result of that also.
So this was the list of Top 10 smartphones from across the globe and different regions specifically. This list if subjected to change further as we move forward with the rest of the year. More and more new smartphones will be launching in coming months, and we will definitely see major changes in the list. So stay tuned for an updated list and let us know which one of the smartphone you own from the list and what you like about it.
