Opera Mini 18 offers Video downloads from Facebook, Instagram for offline viewing
The Opera Mini web browser has been redesigned exclusively for Android users in India. Announcing their new partnership with Bollywood Hungama, the company stated that users would be able to download videos from social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram or any other website of their choice and watch it later offline. There is no need of any other downloading application separately since all this happens internally inside the browser. According to them, Bollywood and sports are the most popular content consumed by users in the country. Opera is partnering with Bollywood Hungama mainly because of that reason.
So how this works is, when you play a video in High savings mode, you will be getting a prompt about downloading it in the built-in video player. Or else Alternatively, users can also tap on the upper right corner of the video to initiate the downloading process. It is as simple as that. All these upgrades are added to their existing application as an update. The insight was applied to the latest version of Opera Mini, making India the only country where Opera works with local content partners.
With these partnerships, Opera Mini users can access content from Bollywood Hungama and sports updates by Sportskeeda from the start page of the browser. Once downloaded, these videos will be saved to your SD card or in the internal storage, depending on what you select. Also, this feature will work on both video website or even on the ones without any inbuilt media player. Also with the new design, the browser will also provide Indian-made content and will also support 13 languages.
In addition to content from the new partners, Opera Mini already has a news feature that displays articles across categories such as News, Business, Technology, Travel, Lifestyle, and so on. Users can customise this news feed by choosing their preferred categories and display language. According to reports, the Opera Mini is the world’s top 10 fastest apps on Google Play. Opera enables more than 350 million internet consumers worldwide to connect with the content and services.
