Record 360 degree videos from iPhone with this $199 Camera Accessory
Virtual Reality supported 360-degree videos are starting to become popular now with more and more content creators are adopting the technology. Even major social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, etc. have been pushing this new technology lately. But the most importantly the camera rig used to film one of those videos are not readily available, or even if it does, it’s not the easiest thing to use.
The Insta360 Nano aims to address this need with a friendlier solution. Insta360 has instantly recognized the importance of this trend by introducing an iPhone-compatible camera attachment accessory for the capture of 360-degree video. The device works by pairing Front-facing and rear-facing 210-degree fisheye cameras and connecting to the Lightning port on the bottom of an iPhone. It resembles the design of the LG 360 CAM, that the company launched as an accessory of the LG G5.
We have already seen many of those camera attachments for the iPhones, which just enhances the existing camera. But this is not an attachment of such kind. The Insta360 Nano is an actual camera that connects to your iPhone. The only thing to be noted is that the iPhone needs to be held upside down while in use. But it shouldn’t be of any concern as the application software for this device automatically rotates the screen once you open it.
Another advantage of using this is, the camera stitches the panoramic footage captured in real time, and there’s no need for post-production on a PC or with other software. This allows the users to share the videos instantly with everyone. The Instant360 Nano can capture at 30fps and with a maximum resolution of 3K. This immediately gives it a boost over alternative devices of a similar nature which are generally around the 2K standard. These captured videos can be shared instantly to social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, etc. using the app. The content can also be broadcasted live.
This new interesting device is priced at $199 (which roughly translates to about 13,500 INR) and comes in five colors to match any shade of iPhone: Silver, Gray, Black, Gold, and Pink. The Insta360 Nano is available now to pre-order from Amazon and will start shipping on July 15th. Stay tuned for more details on this.
