Samsung Galaxy On7 relaunced as Galaxy Wide in South Korea
After LG launching the LG X5, X Skin and X Power smartphone in South Korea; Samsung came up with a new Galaxy smartphone called Samsung Galaxy Wide. It bears the model number SM-G600S and the device look identical to the Galaxy On7. It features an alloy frame around the device with a textured plastic back panel. The device is exclusively sold through SK Telecom, South Korea’s largest carrier.
The Galaxy Wide sports a 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) TFT display. Under the hood, the device is powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz along with Adreno 306 GPU. It includes 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be further expanded upto 128GB via MicroSD card slot. The Galaxy On7 that was launched in India came with just 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of storage.
In the camera department, the device sports a 13MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash that can record videos at Full HD resolution at 30fps. On the front is a 5MP selfie camera with wide angle lens. The Galaxy Wide is backed by a 3,000mAh removable battery that is mentioned to give 21 hours of talk time or 78 hours of audio playback. The device measures 151.8 x 77.5 x 8.2 and weighs 171 grams.
It runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with the latest TouchWiz UI laid on top. Connectivity options on Galaxy Wide include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, ANT+, Wi-Fi Direct, NFC, GPS/GLONASS, Bluetooth, and MicroUSB 2.0 port, while the Galaxy On7 lacks the NFC connectivity. The device is priced at KRW 319,000 (approx $273 / Rs. 18,400) and will be available in White and Black color options.
In November last year, Samsung launched the Galaxy On5 and On7 prices at Rs. 8,990 and Rs. 10,990 in India. At that time the devices are running on Android 5.1 Lollipop and are exclusively sold through Flipkart. The Galaxy On5 came with a 5-inch HD display and is powered by Exynos 3475 quad-core processor coupled. It has the same 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of storage as on Galaxy On7.
The Galaxy On5 is backed by a 2,600mAh battery and sports an 8MP rear camera while the 5MP front camera remains same as on the Galaxy On7. Now the recent rumors also suggest the Galaxy On5 2016 and On7 2016 to be launched in the coming months. Stay tuned for more updates!
