Misfit announces Misfit Vapor, the company’s first touchscreen smartwatch

Misfit, a Fossil Group brand is one of the known player in the wearable business in the market. The company has already launched some of the unique products like the Shine 2, Ray, etc. And now the company has announced a brand new product in the wearable category called the Misfit Vapor. With this, Misfit has successfully entered the smartwatch business as well. Yes, this is the company’s first touchscreen smartwatch that they have launched and it does have some unique set of features. While this is no different than some of the other watch offerings in the same category, it is always good to see more and more new products coming out in the market.

The Misfit Vapor is more like a smartwatch and fitness tracker hybrid as it has an array of different sensors such as the activity tracker, sleep tracker, and heart rate sensor, etc. The best product to relate this would be the Fitbit Blaze which a smartwatch and fitness tracker hybrid from Fitbit. The Misfit vapor features a 1.39” full round AMOLED display on the front which has a PPI of 326 along with a vibrant color palette. As mentioned earlier, it has a variety of different sensors built right into it like the accelerometer, altimeter, gyroscope, optical heart rate sensor, etc. It also has a GPS built right into it along with a microphone.

One of the best feature to note here is that it has a GPS built right into the device and hence if you are going out for a walk or a run, users don’t need to carry thier smartphone around everywhere. Another interesting feature is that it comes with a touch bezels. This will allow users to seamlessly browse through the interface without having to touch the display at all. Think of this like using a digital crown with the Apple Watch. The Misfit Vapor is powered by the Qualcomm® Snapdragon WearTM 2100 processor. It also comes with 4GB of internal storage along with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Misfit claims that it has a good battery life which should be good for 2 days worth of usage, however, do make a note that the battery life of the device is something that will completely depend on individual person. The Misfit Vapor is swim proof and water resistant to 50 meters and it will be available in beautiful finishes like Jet Black and Rose Gold. Just like any other tradiotional watches, you will have the flexibility to change the watch straps here according to your liking. The Misfit Vapor carries a price tag of $199 and it will be available later this year.
