Xolo Era 2X with 5″ HD Display & 4G VoLTE Launched, Price Starts from Rs. 6,666

As announced earlier, Xolo has launched its latest entry-level smartphone called Xolo Era 2X. It is the successor to the last year’s Xolo Era X. As seen with other affordable smartphones, the Xolo Era 2X comes with polycarbonate shell. The Xolo Era X priced at Rs. 5,499 is one of the affordable 4G VoLTE smartphones at that time. Now, with a slightly higher price tag of Rs. 6,666, the Era 2X additionally comes with a fingerprint while other specifications remain same as on the Era X. While the base variant comes with 2GB of RAM, there is also another variant with 3GB RAM priced at Rs. 7,499.

It sports a 5-inch On-Cell IPS display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution, but it lacks Gorilla Glass protection as seen on Era X. Under the hood of the Era 2X is the 64-bit MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor clocked at 1.25GHz and coupled with Mali T720 GPU. Along with the 2GB/3GB RAM, the device comes with 16GB of internal storage that can be further expandable upto 32GB via MicroSD card slot. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and even the last year’s Era X also came with the same year old version of Android OS.

The device supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G VoLTE for faster data speeds and HD voice calls. The Xolo Era 2X sports an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera. For comparison, the Era X also came with the same camera sensors and both the cameras are assisted by LED flash. Just below the rear camera is the fingerprint sensor which makes the device a bit more secure. The device is backed by a 2,500mAh battery that might not last more than a day of usage. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, 3.5mm Audio port, and MicroUSB 2.0 port.

On the right edge of the device, we can find the volume rocker and power button. The device also comes pre-installed Jio apps, and the user can get the free Jio 4G SIM. With the Happy New Year offer, the user can get the free 4G data (FUP @ 1GB/day), voice calls, and SMS. The users can also use the Jio Suite of apps for free until the end of this year. The device comes in Latte Gold and Dark Gunmetal colors. Both the 2GB and 3GB RAM variants will be available exclusively from Flipkart starting from January 9th.
