Samsung revealed cause of Galaxy Note 7 blast incidents, blames two battery factor

Samsung in a press conference revealed the cause of blast occurred in Galaxy Note 7 smartphone. Samsung also told the processor and investigation it had done after the explosion incidents. The company is now claiming that the same incident will never happen again in future. The company now brought 8-point battery safety check and multi-layer safety measurements which are better than industry standards.

As we all know, Samsung launched Galaxy Note 7 smartphone last year in August and went on sale worldwide. The company claims that it sold 3 million Note 7 devices worldwide. After the sale, many incidents of heating and blast in device surfaces online. Many people started complaining about the safety of the device. Note only that many airlines banned the use of the any Samsung device during flight. After that Samsung recalled all the devices and remotely disconnected them as well. The company also halted the production of the Galaxy Note 7 completely. The company claimed that it is going through internal investigation and will come out soon with some answers.

Now we have an answer from the company; it said in the press conference that a team of 700 researchers worked on the matter and tested more than 2,00,000 devices. Team also tested more than 30,000 batteries in the lab. The team found out that there was two factor in Galaxy Note 7 failure. The company used two different batteries in the smartphone. In one battery, there was an electron deflection and incorrect positioning of the negative electrode tip in the upper right corner of the battery.

In the second battery, there was abnormal good spot led to an internal short-circuit. Samsung claims that now it knows the cause of the blast and now working on making things better. The company came up with 8-point battery safety check which includes durability test, visual inspection, X-ray test, TVOC test, disassembling test, accelerated use test, and OCV test. The company now charge and discharge the battery so many times, then it sends the battery for X-ray test which checks the internal components. Stay Tuned with Phone Radar for more.
