Google Allo & Duo to run parallely along with Messenger Apps in Android 7.0
According to previous reports, the newly announced messaging platform Allo was expected to replace the stock messenger app as well hangouts as the primary messaging application. This information came from a Redditor, who claimed himself as a “third level beta tester” for the company. According to him, the new Allo will come pre-installed with Android 7.0 and will replace all the other messaging apps, etc. But now we have new information on this, which states that the previously obtained information was false.
This news came from a trusted source who wished to stay anonymous. According to him, the stock messenger app or Hangouts app is not going anywhere. He also mentioned that the newly launched Allo app would run in parallel with these two. It will be more like a companion app rather than replace them from the roots. It will be interesting to see how the company is going to implement this and make everything run in parallel, without making users feel like they are using the same apps, more like a duplicate.
So if you are a Hangout or messenger fan, then don’t worry. The company is just trying to give a better-enhanced experience here with all these new features. But again, as mentioned before we expect them to implement it correctly or else users might just end yup with multiple duplicate apps doing the same things with just a different name. If you are living under a rock, then you might not be knowing that Google announced two new applications called the Allo and Duo.
These two apps were announced at Google I/O this year. Both the apps will be coming out soon along with the final build of 7.0 Nougat, and others will get them soon after that. Both the apps might be a take on the Apple’s iMessage and Facetime apps, as they are mostly identical regarding features etc. We don’t have any confirmation on the launch dates of these apps yet, so stay tuned for more info on this soon in coming days.
