Honor 8 with Dual 12MP Rear Cameras & Kirin 950 SoC Launched in China
Honor unveiled its latest dual rear camera smartphone Honor 8 in China. It is the third device next to Honor 6 Plus and Honor V8 to feature dual rear cameras. It comes with a metallic frame and a 2.5D glass laid on either side of the device. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with the latest EMUI 4.1 overlaid. With the included NFC, the Honor also supports Huawei Pay virtual payments.
It sports a 2.5D 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display. Under the hood is the 2.3GHz Kirin 950 octa-core processor built on 16nm architecture. It comes with 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB storage options. Coming to the camera department, it features dual 12MP sensor on the rear, same as on the Huawei P9 & P9 Plus. On the front is an 8MP selfie camera.
The round shaped fingerprint sensor can be found on the rear of the device. The same fingerprint sensor can be used as a shutter button on camera app and can be used to access notification panel. It is backed by a 3,000mAh battery and supports 4th-gen power saving technology. With the provided 9V2A power adapter, it also supports fast charging.
The 3GB RAM variant with 32GB storage is priced at 1999 Yuan while the device with 4GB RAM costs 2299 Yuan for 32GB storage and 2499 Yuan for 2499 Yuan. It will be available in Charm Navy, Streamer Gold, Pearl White, Phantom Black, and Cherry Pink color options. The registrations for the sale of Honor 8 starts from today while the actual sales start from July 19th.
