Lenovo Vibe K5 Note to Launch with 4GB RAM in India on August 1st
Update: Lenovo Vibe K5 Note that was already launched in China is now coming to Indian market on August 1st. Based on the company’s tweet, the device will be equipped with 4GB of RAM instead of just 2GB. The device that was launched in few south-east Asian countries including Thailand in the last couple of weeks also included just 2GB RAM. Though the specifications and design of the device are already known, stay tuned for official pricing of the device.
Earlier: Earlier this month, Lenovo had launched the Vibe K4 Note smartphone in India, and now the company came up with a successor called as K5 Note in China. The device looks completely different when compared with the K4 Note; the front-facing dual stereo speakers are missing on the K5 Note. Unlike the plastic build back cover on its predecessor, the K5 Note sports an all metal body.
It features a 5.5-inch LTPS display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. Under the hood is the newly launched Helio P10 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz coupled with Mali-T860 GPU and 2GB of RAM. There is 16GB of internal storage along with a MicroSD card slot that can expand the storage upto 128GB. The Lenovo Vibe K4 Note came with same 5.5-inch display and 16GB of onboard storage but includes 3GB of RAM.
In the camera department, there is a 13MP rear camera with Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) & dual tone LED flash and an 8MP front shooter for selfies and video calls. It is backed by a slightly bigger 3,500mAh battery compared to the 3,300mAh battery on the K4 Note and is said to deliver 34.2 hours of talk time and lasts up to 543.3 hours on standby. The battery on the K5 Note also supports fast charging the provided 5V/2A adapter.
The dual SIM device supports 4G LTE and offers other basic connectivity options including VoLTE. The three microphones for noise reduction on the K4 Note is also passed on through the K5 Note. On the back, there is also a fingerprint sensor for that extra bit of security and the same sensor can be used for payments and capturing images. The 1.5W speaker on the rear offers some premium sound, and the device supports Dolby Atmos Surround System.
The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Vibe UI overlaid, and it will be upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow in the next few weeks. The device will be available in the Gold & Silver color and is priced at 1099 Yuan (approx $167 / Rs. 11,300). The registrations are already started for the first sale that will be held this week in China.
