The smartphone is priced at INR 9,750 and will be available to purchase starting July 10th. The device features a 5 inch HD ( 720×1280 pixels) Super AMOLED Display. It sports an 8-megapixel rear facing camera and a 5-megapixel front facing selfie shooter.

Earlier – Samsung already launched the Galaxy J5 (2016) & Galaxy J7 (2016) in few selected markets. Recently the company also launched the Galaxy J3 (2016) in with entry-level specifications and unique “S Bike” mode. Now the specifications of upcoming Galaxy J2 (2016) with the model number SM-J210F are revealed with the benchmark listing. It will be the successor for Galaxy J2 that was launched last year in India at a price of Rs. 7,590.

The Galaxy J2 (2016) sports a bigger and better display than the 4.7-inch qHD display on Galaxy J2. It features a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display and expect it to come with Super AMOLED display as seen with its predecessor. It is powered by the Spreadtrum SC8830 quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz along with Mali-400 GPU. The device has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which are double than what offered with Galaxy J2.

The improvements can also be found in the camera department. It sports an 8MP primary camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera for selfies. The device might come with dual SIM card slots and also a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. It runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box with TouchWiz UI laid on top. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port.

In India, the device can be expected to launch once the Galaxy J5 (2016) & J7 (2016) are made available. The recently launched Galaxy J3 (2016) came with few similar specifications and additionally includes S Bike mode. It is priced at Rs. 8,990 and the Galaxy J2 (2016) can be expected to price around Rs. 8,000 price range. Even though the company market share is decreased, Samsung still remains as the largest smartphone brand. Samsung also crossed the Q1 2016 targets and the success of Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge is the main reason.
