You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Earlier this month, Qualcomm unveiled the new Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform at the Snapdragon Tech Summit. Samsung now confirmed to announce the successor to Exynos 8895 SoC at the upcoming CES 2018. It will be on par with the Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform. The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are rumored to be the first smartphones to pack these two new flagship processors. Talking about the Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform, it will be powering all the major flagship Android smartphones in 2018.
According to a leaked image from China, we got to know all the devices that will be launched with Snapdragon 845 in 2018. In February, we will be seeing the launch of Samsung Galaxy S9 & Galaxy S9+ along with the LG G7 & G7+ smartphones. Based on the rumors, both the companies will unveil their latest flagship devices at the Mobile World Congress 2018. Unlike the LG G7 devices, only the Samsung Galaxy S9 devices launching in North America and China will use the Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform.
Later in April, Xiaomi will launch the Mi 7 smartphone powered by Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform in China. We hope this time Xiaomi brings it to the Indian market. In June, the OnePlus 6, Sony Xperia XZ Pro-A, and ZTE Nubia Z18 will be entering the market. Based on this information, there will be no flagship smartphone from HTC & Nokia in the first half of 2018. The rumored Nokia 9 expected to launch in January in China might use the Snapdragon 835 instead of the Snapdragon 845.
The Nokia 10 powered by Snapdragon 845 will be the first flagship smartphone to launch in the second half of 2018. In September, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, LG V40, and Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 will go official. During the same period, Apple will release the successors to iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X. While Google and HTC will be coming with Pixel 3 and HTC U12+ smartphones in October 2018, Sony and Nubia will launch the Xperia XZ2 and Nubia Z18S smartphones respectively.
In November, Lenovo will launch the Moto Z 2019 as the successor to Moto Z2 Force (a.k.a Moto Z 2018). We can also expect to see some new Moto Mods alongside the Moto Z 2019 smartphone. Coming to year end, OnePlus will come up with the OnePlus 6T smartphone, whereas Samsung will launch the Samsung W2019 clamshell phone in China. Apart from the Snapdragon 845, we also expect to see edge-to-edge displays on all the above mentioned smartphones. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
