In 2017, we have seen smartphones like Apple iPhone X and Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 featuring edge-to-edge displays. There are also smartphones with chopped off bezels to offer the longer 18:9 displays. After Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6 launched with 18:9 displays in early 2017, the smartphone market has seen a wider adaption of displays with 18:9 aspect ratio. In the last couple of months, a few new smartphones priced under Rs. 10,000 also came with the 18:9 displays.
Now, Lenovo is also joining the 18:9 display bandwagon by launching the budget-centric Lenovo K320t smartphone in China. As of now, Sony is the only major smartphone manufacturers who haven’t yet adopted the new 18:9 display technology. Talking about the Lenovo K320t, this new smartphone comes with a polycarbonate shell and offers entry-level specifications. It is priced at 999 Yuan (approx $150 / Rs. 9,800) and comes only in Black color option.
The device is currently open for registrations, and the sales will begin from January 4th, 2018. On the front of the Lenovo K320t is a 5.7-inch IPS display with HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It offers 81.4% screen-to-body ratio, which is relatively lower than most other 18:9 smartphones. Under the hood is a Spreadtrum quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. We expect it to be the 28nm Spreadtrum SC9850 processor that comes coupled with Mali 820 MP1 GPU.
It offers 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded additionally up to 128GB via a MicroSD card slot. Talking about the camera, the Lenovo K320t comes with dual camera setup on the rear. While 8MP primary rear camera comes with f/2.0 aperture, the 2MP secondary rear camera offers f/2.2 aperture.
