In the last few months, we have seen several leaks and rumors about the upcoming Samsung smartphones. Recently, the company has officially launched the Galaxy A8 (2018) & Galaxy A8+ (2018) smartphones. Now, the Samsung Galaxy J2 (2018) smartphone is listed online with complete specifications and pricing. Earlier, there are few leaks about this new entry-level smartphone from Samsung.
The Samsung Galaxy J2 (2018) comes with the model number SM-J250F and is priced at RUB 7,990 (approx Rs. 140 / Rs. 8,900) in Russia. However, we expect the device to cost much lesser in India than the conversion price. It comes with a polycarbonate body and thick bezels all around the display. Even with the refreshed design, the speaker on the Galaxy J2 (2018) is placed beside the rear camera.
Apart from few changes, the 2018 Galaxy J2 offers almost same specifications as on the 2017 variant. The device sports a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with qHD (960 x 540 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the 64-bit Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz and it comes coupled with Adreno 308 GPU. There is 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be further expanded up to 256GB via a MicroSD card.
In the camera department, the Galaxy J2 (2018) sports an 8MP camera on the rear and a 5MP camera on the front. Both the front and rear cameras on this device come accompanied by a LED flash. It is backed by a 2,600mAh battery which might not give more than day-long usage. The device also supports dual SIM dual standby. It runs on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box and there is no information about the Oreo update.
Beneath the display on the front is a physical home button without the fingerprint sensor. Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. It measures 144 x 72 x 8 mm and weighs 153 grams. As of now, there is no information about the official launch of this device. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details.
