Nokia A1 Plus with Snapdragon 845 & In-display Fingerprint Sensor to Launch Later This Year
At the MWC 2018, HMD Global announced the Nokia 8 Sirocco edition powered by the last year’s Snapdragon 835 processor. The company went for the complete overhaul of the design, but the specifications are just a mere upgrade. From the past few months, we are seeing rumors about the Nokia 9 and Nokia 8 Plus smartphones. While there is no confirmation from the company, the latest leaks suggest the company to actually launch Nokia A1 Plus as its 2019 flagship smartphone.
While A1 Plus is what the device is referred to internally, we have no clue about the device’s actual name. According to the source, the device will come powered by 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform coupled with Kryo 385 CPU and Adreno 630 GPU. The Nokia A1 Plus is also said to sport in-display fingerprint sensor. Vivo and Huawei have already launched smartphones with in-display fingerprint sensors.
The device will be using OLED panel from LG as the in-display fingerprint sensor requires OLED panel. While the company is said to have started working on this device from February this year, the mid-year launch schedule is delayed due to the technical issues. The company is now expected to launch this new smartphone by the end of this year. This new device will also run on the all-new Android 9.0 (Android P) out of the box.
Just like the earlier launched Nokia smartphones, the Nokia A1 Plus will also be manufactured by Foxconn. Recently, there are also leaks about the Nokia 5.1 Plus and Nokia 6.1 Plus smartphones. Both these devices are expected to come with 18:9 aspect ratio. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
