Microsoft to Launch an All-in-one (AIO) PC under Surface Branding in 2017

Microsoft Book

Microsoft appears to be working on a new Surface device which is scheduled to launch this year. This new device could be anything like a Surface Pro or a new Surface Book. The company launched it was last surface book last year.

A Twitter user spotted some Surface hints at Microsoft’s building 88 office during his visits. The company has a dedicated wall to it’s hardware efforts over the years. It contains all the Surface Pros, Surface Books, the updated Surface pen and the type cover. Amidst of all this, there one spot on the wall which is empty for 2016 and it says “Coming Soon.”

Though at this point, it is not clear whether it is going to be a Laptop, tablet or just an accessory for the existing devices. The company might also surprise us with a completely new device. According to various previous reports, the company may also be preparing to launch an All-in-one device under the Surface brand. This device could come as an alternative to the Surface Book. Rumors also point the company might be experimenting with a new device with a traditional PC form factor, which could be launched with Surface branding.

Also according to the source, there are also places for two other devices for 2017. We might expect them to launch around the same time next year or maybe early 2017. Rumors points towards a Surface Phone as well. The company might be planning a successor to the existing flagship with upgraded specs. And it is also expected to launch, the successors to the Surface book and the Surface Pro 4 next year. Hence it is most likely that one might be a phone, and the other device might be a Surface Book or the Surface Pro.

Also, the AIO device launch is pushed to first half of 2017 instead of the original date, which was set in the second half of 2016. This delay was reported due to the delayed shipments of Intel’s Kaby Lake CPUs. However, nothing can be confirmed right now as the only detail we have is that the company might be launching a device in the second half of 2016 and a couple of devices in 2017. Stay tuned for information on these devices in coming days.
