After the release of HTC One E8 smartphone, much more expectations were raised on HTC One E9 and HTC One E9+.
As per the expectation, both handsets received good response from the Android lovers. HTC One E9 smartphone was bought by many users, and there seem to be some issues with the device after few months of usage. So, we did few workouts with all the issues and able to find solutions for them. Go through the below solutions and resolve the issues.
- Lag in performance
- Over-heating issue
- Poor battery life
- Bloatware
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Connections issue
1. Lag in performance
Problem – Most of the users reported about the lag issue in the device after using the phone for few months. This could be a most common issue among all the Android devices. But there is no need to panic, as with few workouts we can easily resolve this issue.
Solution – Try to turn off the animations on your phone. This could be done by enabling the developer options. The options contain hidden features which can improve the performance of your device. So, open ‘Settings>About>Software Information>More’ and tap few times on ‘Build number’. This will enable the developer options, and you can find them now under settings. Open the options and find animation settings. By default, they were pointed to 1x, now reduce them to 0.5x or turn them off completely so as to avoid the lag issue.
Now, clean the cache stored in the apps by opening each app from the app manager and tap on ‘Clear Cache’ button. Once the app cache is cleared, then clean the cache stored in the entire device. This can be done by getting your phone into recovery mode. For that, turn off the device and hold power and volume down buttons at the same time. Now, you will see the recovery menu and in here use volume buttons for navigation and power rocker for confirming the selection. So, select and confirm ‘wipe cache partition’ and when done, go for ‘Reboot system now.’ That’s all; entire cache will get cleared now, and you should have smooth performance without any lag on the device.
It the problem persists, then perform the factory reset of the device. Take the back up of data before proceeding further as it will eliminate entire data from the phone. Once back up is done, turn off the phone and enter into recovery mode as explained above. In here, go for ‘wipe data/factory reset’ and then ‘Yes – delete all user data’. Once the process is done, go for ‘Reboot System now’. You can also perform the factory reset of the phone by opening, ‘Settings>Backup & reset>Factory data Reset>Reset Phone>Erase everything’. Once the process is done, your device should function properly without any lag issue.
2. Over-heating issue
Problem – Many users reported that the device is getting heated during calls or playing games. Over-heating issue troubles all the Android device users and so by taking few precautions you can eliminate this issue.
Solution – We strongly advise you not to use the phone while plug-in for charging as it may over-heat the phone very soon and sometimes may harm the user. Remove the case cover while charging or playing games because that can resolve the heating issue.
Most importantly, avoid using widgets and live wallpapers on the phone. These will over-load the processor and causes an over-heating issue on the device. So, use one or two widgets if required and use static wallpapers instead of live wallpapers. If the issue persists, then perform the factory reset of the device as explained in the solution 1.
3. Poor battery life
Problem – Few of the HTC One E9 users reported about the frequent battery draining issue. This could be eliminated by taking few precautions and so go through the below solution to improve the battery life.
Solution – Remove all the battery-draining apps from the device by uninstalling them. Sometimes, high-resolution games will drain the battery faster as it over-loads the processor, so try to uninstall such games from the device. Do not perform multi-tasking (using several apps and features at a time) on the phone as it may gradually decrease the battery life.
Try to adjust the brightness and rotation of the screen manually instead of auto-option. Also, turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, data and GPS whenever not in use as it may drain the battery faster than usual. Always use original battery chargers for charging the device so that you can get better battery life. If you still facing the battery issue, then try to replace it with the new one.
4. Bloatware
Problem – Just like all other Android devices, HTC One E9 also has bloatware. Most of the users reported about the bloatware issue on the phone.
Solution – Bloatware may cause over-heating and battery draining issues, and so pre-installed apps should be removed from the device. Uninstall all the pre-installed apps and if you don’t find an option for uninstalling then try to disable them. This can save you from battery-draining and over-heating issues too.
5. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Connections issue
Problem – Few users stated that they are unable to connect the device to Wi-Fi and sometimes even to Bluetooth. Well, this could turn into a major problem if ignored. So, go through the below solution for resolving this issue.
Solution – Restart the Wi-Fi router and try using it now. Mostly this should solve this issue and if not turn off the device and turn it back on after sometime. For Bluetooth issue, remove all the existing paired devices and then try to pair the device from beginning. This should resolve the issue with Bluetooth.
Note – Always update your device with the latest OTA released by manufacturers. The updates contain fixes for minor bugs and enhancements to improve the device performance. So, updating the device with the latest software will always be useful. Go to ‘Settings>About Phone’ and check for any updates.
