Trai MySpeed Internet Speed Test App to check Network Coverage – Download APK
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India will launch a mobile app called “MySpeed” on Tuesday, 5th July. The app allows you to check the speed of internet connection on their devices. This is very similar to other speed test applications like SpeedTest. The MySpeed mobile app can be downloaded from the Mobile Sewa app store of the Government of India. It will allow consumers to measure their data speeds on 3G/4G networks. Not only that, the app automatically send the results to the Trai’s analytics portal.
The application not just sends the results, but also sends coverage, data speed and network information along with the device and location of the test to Trai’s servers. However, no personal information of the user will be sent. TRAI has defined minimum internet speed that should be delivered to consumers. However, users often complain of poor speeds all the time. According to reports, the regulator also found that 3G customers of some operators were getting 2G internet speed most of the time in select cities. This initiative will bring respite to the helpless consumers being exploited by operators.
Telecom operators allege that TRAI had conducted selective drive tests to determine instances of call drops, while regulator has maintained it’s stance saying the area of the tests were selected in consultation with the operators. The portal and the application will be formally launched by the regulator on July 5th.
