Philips Health Watch launched at $249 with Heart Rate Monitoring & Always ON Display

Philips Health Watch

Wearable tech is becoming more and more mainstream now, as we have new manufacturers getting on board and launching a variety of new devices. We have already seen a bunch of fitness trackers from different manufacturers. Adding on to the list, now Philips is also coming with their own fitness tracker/watch. The company seems to be getting more serious about the whole wearable scenario.

On that note, the company has launched a series of fitness trackers and wearable. The most important one being the new Health Watch. So what’s so different about these new wearables from the others? Well, it appears that the company is going for higher accuracy. While rest of the manufacturers focus more on style and looks of the device, Philips got FDA accreditation for its devices. Talking about the hardware features of this device, it can monitor a host of different biometric data. Starting from the optical heart rate monitor, which continuously check resting heart rates as well as resting respiration rate.

Apart from that, it will also track your steps, sleep calories, sedentary time, active time and also running etc. The company claims that it is medical grade device designed to help prevent lifestyle induced chronic conditions. But it most likely is a lifestyle product rather than a medical grade device, but it is definitely expected to be better than the existing ones in terms of accuracy etc.

This new Heath Watch is priced at $250 is available now to purchase. Apart from the health watch, they also launched a bunch of other devices like the connected blood pressure monitor and also a smart scale which also doubles as a fat analyzing body monitor, both priced at $99.99. There’s also a smart thermometer which is priced at $59.99. As far as the health watch is concerned, it looks promising with FDA accreditation and everything but still it appears to be kind of overpriced for a fitness tracker. Let us know what you think and stay tuned for more info on this.
