Smartwatches are becoming more advanced with all new latest advancements in technology. On the same lines, Samsung in collaboration with TIM has launched the first smart watch in Italy, which has an integrated embedded SIM. For all those who don’t know, TIM is a telecom company in Italy that provides mobile and fixed telephone as well as Internet services. So this essentially makes the Samsung Gear S2 Classic 3G, the world’s first smartwatch with eSIM. This could be a technological innovation that marks the next step towards the digital future of Internet of Things (IOT).

With this technology, it makes it very simple to connect the smartwatch with the TIM’s mobile network. You just have to scan a QR code, and you are good to go. Once done, the smartwatch can be used independently without a smartphone. The watch can be used to make calls, send and receive messages as well as cellular data. Gemalto, an international digital security company providing software applications, is also collaborating with Samsung and TIM. It will ensure the correct management and customization of mobile radio. This will be done directly from within the eSIM.
