LG V20 Smartphone Confirmed to Launch in India by LG India MD in September
LG is finally bringing its V Series in India as the company head confirms the news. For the past couple of months, the new iteration, V20 has been in rumour mill until the company decided to make it official by sending out an invite for the September 6th launch event, which is during IFA event in Berlin. Though, the even would be happening in San Francisco.
Kim Ki Wan, Managing Director, LG India revealed that he is planning to bring the LG V20 smartphone to India within a month’s time of the international announcement. So, you can expect the brand to unveil V20 sometime late in September or early in October. He adds that this decision was made recently by him during the visit to company’s factory in Ranjangaon near Pune.
If you didn’t know, the brand hasn’t yet launched the first model in V Series, the V10. Now that V20 is going to be announced, it doesn’t make sense to bring an old model for sale in India. Many consumers, though, liked to see that handset in the country as it has an appeal.
LG V20 with Four Cameras & Android 7.0 Nougat to Launch at IFA 2016
To jog up your memory about V20, it is the successor of V10 and is likely to sport four cameras, dual on the rear and dual on the front. It would be one of its kind setup on a smartphone. This was leaked in a photo posted by Evan Blass earlier which we reported as well.
The V20 is expected to come with a 2K display of at least 5.5-inch size and is reported to be powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB of RAM. There are also reports stating it would come up with USB Type-C.
Interestingly, the brand has revealed some details about the upcoming device. The company has partnered up with Bang & Olufsen, the Danish maker of audio equipment. Moreover, the brand has teased that the V20 might come up with a semi-modular setup like it’s G5 as there invite states, “Play More”. It resonates with the tagline of the LG G5 launched in June in India.
