Samsung Galaxy On8 Vs On Nxt Vs J7 Prime Smartphone Comparison
Samsung is known for launching multiple smartphones a year, unlike few other brands which mainly focus on flagship device only. We have seen this before from Samsung and yet again this they have followed the same trend. We are almost at the end of 2016 with only two months to go, and we still have new smartphones coming from the South Korean manufacturer. The company has just announced to launch the new Galaxy On NXT smartphone here in India. Now with that announcement, Samsung now has a variety of different offerings in the On series itself.
Earlier, they launched the On5 Pro & On7 Pro smartphones and now the On 8 and even the On NXT. Now that’s a lot of smartphones to remember. And when you so confused with even the names of these devices, what will you do when it comes to choosing the best ones amongst them. Well, that’s what we are here for. Let’s compare few of these devices which have quite similar specs to offer and see which one you should be going for. Today we are going to be comparing the On NXT with the On 8 and the J7 Prime smartphones.
Design:
With that being said, if you take a look at the device side by side, you will not be able to figure out the difference. The next thing is the in-hand feel. This is again something to be decided by the individual users. If you like the metal design then definitely go for that or vice-versa. Also, in terms of the button placements and other hardware support, all of them are more or less the same. The only difference with the On NXT & J7 prime is the fact that the speaker grill is on the top left of the device which is quite unusual to place it there. But yes, other than that, we are pretty much looking at the exact same devices, at least in terms of the design.

Hardware:
The Samsung Galaxy On NXT and the Galaxy J7 Prime both comes with the Exynos 7870 octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz. Whereas on the other hand, the On8 is powered by the slightly less powerful 7580 SoC. While we see the difference in the SoC, all of them packs the same amount of RAM i.e. 3GB of RAM along with the 16GB of internal storage in case of On8 and 32GB internal storage in case of On NXT and J7 Prime. However, storage should not be an issue here in either of the devices since all of them can be expanded upto 128GB (On8) or 256GB (On NXT & J7Prime).
In terms of the camera, all the three sports a 13-megapixel rear facing sensors whereas for the front, the J7 Prime and On NXT have 8-megapixel selfie shooters and the On8 have a 5-megapixel sensor there. The aperture sizes may vary here along with other capabilities, so you might have to check out the details for the same on the official listing. But as far as the camera performance is concerned, the difference shouldn’t be significant. However, if you want a detailed analysis on the camera performance on all of them, then you should hold on as we have to test them to point out the difference.
Software
All the three devices runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of box and may or may not get updated to the next iteration i.e. 7.0 Nougat. What this means is, you can expect them to work exceptionally well since even most of the low end smartphones perform well with Marshmallow these days. Do make a note that they don’t run stock Android software. All of them have a custom Samsung UI on top which essentially offers some additional features. But again, it is quite heavy and feels nowhere as good as the stock android. This is not a deal breaker by any means, but something you should be aware of before making a decision here.
Battery
Verdict
Well, one thing which you can easily point out from the above comparison is the fact that all the three device packs more or less the exact same specs. Be it the SoC they are using or be it the battery, they are more or less the same and you as the end users, will not notice any difference using them on a day-to-day basis. Now let’s talk price, the Galaxy On8 is cheapest of the bunch which costs 15,900 INR. The On NXT is priced at 18,490 INR and the J7 Prime is priced at 19,400 INR which is also the most expensive of the bunch.
Which one to pick? If you are simply going to use the smartphone for day-to-day activities like browsing the internet or watch movies or do casual, the On8 is going to be just fine. Given the fact that you can save around 2,000 to 3,000 INR on this, it should be the way to go. However, if you want the best out of the bunch and don’t want to compromise on anything, then go with the J7 Prime or the On NXT. Both of them are very much identical and have launched just recently. Well, with that confusion out of the way, let us know which device are you planning to pick up and why.
