Vivo to Launch X9 & X9 Plus Smartphones on November 17th in China
In early 2016, Vivo has launched the world’s first smartphone with 6GB RAM, Vivo XPlay 5 Elite in China. After that, the company hasn’t launched any new high-end devices. Now the latest information suggests that the company to launch the successors for the Vivo X6 and X6 Plus that are launched in December last year. The new devices will be called as Vivo X9 and X9 Plus skipping the X7 and X8 naming. Maybe, Vivo is looking to match them with the Mate 9 and OPPO R9s devices. Few rumors also suggest the company will unveil the Vivo XPlay 6 on the same stage, but we don’t think so.
Both these devices will be officially launched on November 17th in China. Unlike last year, we are expecting the company to introduce the X9 and X9 Plus smartphones in the foreign markets like India. The Vivo X9 devices will feature 12MP Sony IMX260 rear sensor with dual pixel lens, same as the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. On the front, we might see dual cameras for capturing better selfies. Last year’s LG V10 came with the same dual front camera setup. The devices feature an Aluminum built metal bodies, and On the other hand, the XPlay 6 is said to sports ceramic body with a glossy finish.
The Vivo X9 and X9 Plus will run on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow based FunTouch UI. Under the hood will be a Snapdragon processor with 3GB/4GB of RAM. Both the devices will be available in different storage options. There will be a fingerprint for making the device secure and the exclusive audio chip for providing HiFi sound. In between, Xiaomi will be launching their latest flagship smartphone Mi Note 2 tomorrow in China. Since the company is yet to confirm the launch date and the product details, take this with a pinch of salt. Last week, the company launched its new mid-range smartphone Vivo Y67 in China.
It comes with a price tag of 1798 Yuan and is available in Rose Gold and Champagne color options. The device sports a 5.5-inch IPS display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor coupled with Mali T-860 GPU and 4GB of RAM. It has 32GB of onboard storage along with a MicroSD card slot. The Y67 supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G VoLTE. On the cameras front, it has a 16MP front camera and a 13MP rear camera, same as the OPPO R9 (a.k.a OPPO F1 Plus). Both the cameras are equipped with LED flash for capturing images even in low light conditions.
On the front, there is home button along with fingerprint sensor. Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, and Micro USB 2.0 port. There is no information about the launch of this device in India. The Vivo Y55L is the latest smartphone to be launched by Vivo in the Indian market. It comes with the same design as Vivo Y67 but lacks the physical home button on the front. Compared to Vivo Y67, the Y55L is underpowered as it packs a Snapdragon 430 SoC and just 2GB of RAM.
