Microsoft Launches Surface Studio All-In-One PC with 28″ 4.5K UHD Display

At the Microsoft Event in New York, the company has unveiled its latest hardware product called Surface Studio. Though rumors suggested the launch of Surface Phone and Surface Pro 5 on the same stage, nothing is mentioned about these devices. Microsoft indeed announced the upgraded Surface Book i7 with a massive 16 hours of battery life and doubled graphics performance when compared to its predecessor. The upcoming Windows 10 update will be called as Windows 10 Creators Update and comes with new Paint 3D app. There are also a bunch of accessories like Surface Dial and software features like Beam which is built-in game streaming service like Twitch.

What stayed special at the event is the company’s first ever all-in-one PC with top notch specifications along with the world’s best monitor display. It comes with a 28-inch 4.5K (4500 x 3000 pixels) UHD PixelSense display with Touchscreen support and an aspect ratio of 3:2. It is said to sport 63% more pixels than the regular 4K TVs available in the market and measures just 12.5mm thickness.The display can easily switch between sRGB & DCI-P3 display modes. It comes powered by the latest 6th Gen Intel i5/i7 quad-core processor.

The Surface Studio will be available in 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB RAM options and includes 1TB/2TB rapid hybrid drive storage. The Graphics performance will be undertaken by 2GB of Nvidia 965M or 4GB of Nvidia 980M GPU. It has the Zero Gravity Hinges that make the display move as low as 20-degree angle. The base of the AIO sports 4 USB 3.0 ports, mini display port, card reader, 3.5mm audio port, and finally 2.1 stereo speaker with Doly Audio premium. The 5MP camera on the front with Full HD recording support makes the video calls look much better, and the Microsoft Hello makes use of the camera to unlock quickly.

  • Surface Studio with i7 Processor, 32GB RAM, 2TB Storage, and 4GB GPU – $4199 (approx Rs. 2,80,500)

All the three variants are now available for pre-order and will be shipped in early 2017, though a limited quantity will be made available by the end of this year. It comes bundled other new accessories like Surface Mouse, Surface Keyboard, and Surface Pen. It only has a single cable coming out that for connecting to the power socket. Microsoft is also offering the Surface Dial worth $100 for free with every pre-order. For comparison, the Apple iMac with 27-inch Retina 5K display, i7 processor, 32GB RAM, 2TB Storage, and 4GB AMD Radeon R9 M395X GPU costs $3399.
