Lenovo Moto M with Fingerprint Sensor & Metal Body Leaked in New Images
After introducing the all new Moto Z series at the Lenovo Tech Show in June this year. The company has launched the Moto Z and Moto Z Force smartphones with modular back cases called Moto Mods. From the last few months, there are rumors about another new series called Moto M. Even there are leaked images of the Moto M smartphone with the model number XT1662. From the images, we can find the all metal body with a slight curved on the rear. Now the same device is spotted in even better images; the accessory maker Skinomi posted the screen protector for the Moto M where we can clearly see the front view.
It comes with rounded corners and has a Moto logo below the display. All the Moto devices from 2016 are said to feature, but the Moto E3 Power, Moto G4 Play, and Moto G4 missed this. The Moto G4 Plus is the most affordable Moto smartphone to feature the fingerprint sensor. The Moto Z, Moto Z Force, and Moto Z Play are the other devices to feature the sensor. All these devices came with the front facing fingerprint sensor, but the upcoming Moto M will feature it on the rear. Coming to the leaked specifications, it sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display.
It comes powered by the MediaTek MT6755 octa-core processor clocked at 2.1GHz and coupled with Mali T860 GPU. The device also includes 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There is no information about the presence of MicroSD card slot. It will be running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box and will get the Android 7.0 Nougat update pretty soon. The Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus devices in India are already receiving the Android Nougat update. In the camera department, there will be a 16MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera.
The device is said to be backed by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery. We also expect the device to come with Turbo Charging power adapter that brings the charging time to a minimum. Though there is no official confirmation, the Moto M is expected to launch in China in the next few weeks. Just like the Moto E3 Power, the Lenovo might not launch the Moto M in the U.S. In August, Lenovo and Microsoft made agreements where the Microsoft apps like Office, Skype, and OneDrive will come pre-loaded on the Android powered Lenovo smartphones and tablets.
In the above image, we can see the Skype app on the home screen. The UI on the device with stock icons is now replaced with the custom icons. While Moto devices are known come with no bloatware apps with stock Android experience, now Lenovo is changing them one by one. Along with Microsoft apps, there are Facebook and Messenger apps on the home screen. Recently, Lenovo launched with the ZUK Z2 Plus (a.k.a ZUK Z2 in China) smartphone in India with Google Launcher though it is running on Vibe UI.
