Panasonic Launches Eluga I9 with 3GB RAM & 13MP Camera for Rs. 7,499

The Eluga I9 is the latest smartphone under the Eluga series from Panasonic. In 2017, we have seen more than a dozen entry-level Eluga smartphones. With the Eluga Ray 500 priced at Rs. 8,999, the company also offered dual camera smartphone for the budget conscious customers. Now, the newly launched Eluga I9 is priced at Rs. 7,499 and packs decent specifications. It sports metal body and comes in Space Grey, Gold, and Blue color options.

The device will go on sale exclusively through Flipkart starting December 15th. The smartphone sports a 5-inch display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. There is also a 2.5D curved glass laid on top of the display. Under the hood is the MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor clocked at 1.25 GHz and comes coupled with Mali-T720 MP2 GPU. The Eluga I9 also packs 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage that can be expandable up to 128GB using the MicroSD card.

In terms of optics, the device offers a 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 5MP front-facing camera with f/2.4 aperture for selfies. It is backed by a 2,500mAh battery which should be good should a day-long usage. The circular fingerprint sensor is placed on the rear of the device. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat, and we don’t expect the company to release the Android 8.0 Oreo update anytime soon.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, USB OTG, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. While the volume rocker is placed on the left edge, the power button sits on the right edge of the device. The Eluga I9 also supports dual SIM dual standby and offers VoLTE connectivity.
