OPPO Relaunches RealMe 1 in Taiwan as OPPO A73s at Rs 20,200 (NT$ 8990)

In the recent times, the Chinese smartphone brands are bringing their newly launched smartphones from China to India with a different name. For example, Xiaomi recently launched the China-exclusive Redmi S2 as Redmi Y2 in India. Earlier this year, OPPO introduced a new sub-brand called Realme in the Indian market. The Realme 1 is the first smartphone from this new brand. Now, the same device was listed on company’s official website as OPPO A73s.

While the Realme 1 is priced at Rs 10,990 for the 4GB RAM variant, the OPPO A73s with 4GB RAM is said to cost NT$ 8,990 (approx Rs 20,200). Unlike Realme 1, the OPPO A73s comes in just 4GB RAM variant. Talking about the other specifications, both the Realme 1 and OPPO A73s shares exact same internals. The new OPPO A73s comes powered by the powerful MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core processor. It comes with 6-inch Full HD+ 18:9 display that offers 84.8% screen-to-body ratio.

The OPPO A73s runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.0 out of the box. It offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. In the camera department, the OPPO A73s sports a 13MP camera on the rear and an 8MP camera on the front. Even with the single cameras on the front and rear, the device uses the AI technology to offer portrait mode. It is backed by a 3,410mAh non-removable battery and lacks fast charging support.

The device lacks the fingerprint sensor but comes with face unlock option. While the OPPO A73s comes in Midnight Black and Solar Red color options, the Realme 1 also came in Silver color. It comes with the plastic body that has patterned diamond cut design. While we also know the Realme 1 is aggressively priced to compete with other budget segment devices, but the OPPO A73s at such a high price doesn’t make any sense.

Just yesterday, OPPO has launched the flagship Find X smartphone with hidden cameras and true bezel-less display. With the Find X, the company is also officially entering North America and European markets. Talking about the OPPO A73s, the device is expected to go on sale by the end of this month.
