OPPO R17 with Gorilla Glass 6 & In-display Fingerprint Sensor Goes Official

After unveiling the OPPO F9 with waterdrop screen outside of China, the company today launched the OPPO R17 smartphone. The OPPO R17 will be the company’s first smartphone to feature in-display fingerprint sensor. As of now, there is no official announcement regarding the OPPO R17 Pro. However, the recent teaser video confirmed the Pro variant to come with triple camera setup on the rear. While the OPPO F9 came with patterned glass back body with gradient finish, the OPPO R17 comes with a plain gradient finish.

The OPPO R17 Pro sports a 6.4-inch Full HD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) display with 19:9 aspect ratio and 91.5% screen-to-body ratio. It also comes with the new Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection on the top. Under the hood, the device is powered by the all-new 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 Mobile Platform coupled with Kryo 360 CPU and Adreno 615 GPU. It includes 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Talking about the cameras, the OPPO R17 sports dual rear cameras featuring 16MP primary sensor f/1.8 aperture and a 5MP secondary sensor.

For selfies, the device comes with a 25MP camera on the front with AI features and 3D portrait mode. It is backed by a 3,500mAh non-removable battery and supports 5V/4A (20W) VOOC flash charge fast charging technology. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and USB Type-C port. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with ColorOS 5.2 skin on top. While the recently launched OPPO smartphones, the new OPPO R17  sports in-display fingerprint sensor.

The device will be available in Twilight Blue and Starry Purple color options. Coming to the pricing, the OPPO R17 with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage costs 3499 Yuan (approx $509 / Rs 35,500).
