BlackBerry Hamburg

Blackberry is trying its luck with the Android operating system lately and has already come up with its offerings like the Blackberry Priv etc. It is also planning to launch two new smartphones dubbed the Blackberry Rome and Blackberry Hamburg. And interestingly, now out of these two devices, one just got approved at the FCC. Yes, the blackberry Hamburg got the FCC approval in the United States and now it can be expected to launch sooner or later. It is also anticipated that the Blackberry Rome will also get the approval soon.

The Blackberry device that has got the FCC approval comes with the model number STH100-2. Although the approval doesn’t come with all the specs of the device, indeed there are a few that we can take a look at and start the guessing game. According to the documents, it is confirmed that it will be manufactured by TCL Communications Ltd. TCL is a China-based smartphone manufacturing company and owns the Alcatel brand.

Talking about the specs, we have a device which will be powered by a 2610 mAh battery, which supports multiple frequency bands of 4G LTE, 3G, and 2G networks and supports WiFi, NFC, Bluetooth v4.2 LE and Micro-USB. However, we don’t have any info about the processor, RAM, etc. But according to previous rumors, it is likely to be powered by an octa-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (Cortex A53 – ARMv8) processor and 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. For software, it will be running the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box. It is also expected that the device will not sport a physical keyboard.

On the camera side, it is going to feature a 12-megapixel rear LED flash camera and an 8-megapixel front facing camera. However, we don’t have any confirmations on these specs from the company, and hence we suggest you to take this information with a pinch of salt. Stay tuned for more confirmed details on the device as we will get to know more in coming weeks.
