Indian Govt launches M-Kavach Free security solution for Android devices – Features

The Government of India has launched a malware analysis center called the Cyber Swachhta Kendra (CSK). This is a new desktop and mobile security solution in order to maintain a secure cyberspace in the country. Apart from this, the Govt. also launched a security and anti-theft solution for mobile phones called M-Kavach. In laymen terms, the M-Kavach is a mobile device security solution for Android devices which addresses various issues & threats related to mobile phones.
The M-Kavach deals with threats related to misuse of resources of a mobile device such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Camera, etc. It prevents the unauthorized access to these resources and protects the device against Javascript Malware. Users will also be able to restrict the access to certain apps if they feel the need. Access to certain critical applications such as mobile wallets, media apps, etc. Even certain unwanted communication can be prevented by blocking unwanted calls & SMS.
Features of M-Kavach

Apart from M-Kavach, they also launched a couple of other servcies like USB Pratirodh, AppSamvid, Browser JSGuard. USB Pratirodh is a desktop security solution which controls the usage of removable storage media devices like Pendrive, external HDDs, etc. AppSamvid is desktop based Application Whitelisting solution for Windows Operating System. Only the preapproved set of executable files will be allowed for execution in that particular computer. And finally, the Browser JSGuard is a browser extension which detects and defends malicious HTML & JavaScript attacks.
