In the month of February, we have seen more budget smartphone launches from Indian brands than the Chinese brands. All the below-mentioned device support 4G VoLTE and can be used with Jio 4G SIM. Though there are few alternative Chinese smartphones in the market, they are only sold via flash sales. A couple of smartphones from the list are also sold via retail stores across the country. - Swipe Elite 3 – Rs. 5,499
Swipe had launched quite a few entry-level smartphones in the Indian market. In February, the company launched the Swipe Elite 3 as the successor to Elite 2 smartphone. It is priced at Rs. 5,499 and is exclusively available only on through Flipkart. The user can choose between Space Grey and Champagne Gold color options. As seen with smartphones from other Indian manufacturers, Swipe Elite 3 also includes 12 regional languages support which comes integrated into the OS. It comes with a 5-inch HD display and is powered by Spreadtrum SC9832 quad-core processor. The device also includes 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It also comes with an 8MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, and a 2,500mAh battery. Swipe Elite 3 also supports 4G VoLTE for using the Jio 4G SIM.
- Intex Aqua Lions 4G – Rs. 5,499
The Intex Aqua Lion 4G smartphone is the successor to last year’s Aqua Lion 3G smartphone. Apart from the 4G VoLTE support, there aren’t any huge changes between both the devices. It comes with a 5-inch FWVGA display and is powered by a Spreadtrum quad-core processor. The Aqua Lion 4G also includes 1GB RAM and 8GB of expandable storage. For photos and videos, it has 2MP and 5MP sensors on the front and back respectively. The is 2,000mAh battery on this device might not last more than a day of usage. It supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G VoLTE and other basic connectivity options. The plastic built device measures 143.8 x 72 x 9.8 mm and weighs almost 147 grams. It is priced at of Rs. 5,499 and comes in Grey and Champagne colors.
- Asus ZenFone Go 5.0 LTE – Rs. 8,999
Asus had earlier launched the Zenfone Go 5.0 smartphone in 2016, and now the company launched its upgraded variant with few changes. The volume rocker and the power button are now placed on the rear and top of the device respectively. The device is now available via Amazon India for a price of Rs. 8,999. It comes with 5-inch HD display and is powered by the year’s old Snapdragon 410 SoC. The rear camera is no upgraded to 13MP resolution while the 5MP front camera remains same. It is backed by a 2,600mAh battery that is rated to deliver 16 hours of talk time. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. It comes with a removable back cover and is available in Black, Red, Blue, and Gold color options.
- Zen Cinemax 4G – Rs. 6,499
The Cinemax 4G is the newly launched smartphone from the Indian smartphone brand called Zen. The device is priced Rs. 6,499 and comes with free Jio 4G SIM. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the slightly customized skin on top. The device comes with a 5.5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) and includes 2GB of RAM that can give lag free experience with regular usage. The device also sports 5MP cameras on front and rear of the device, though only the rear camera comes with LED flash. It also supports 22 Indian regional languages and has the feature to change the language on the home screen. The company is also offering a one-time screen replacement for free within the first six months.
- Intex Aqua Crystal – Rs. 6,990
The Intex Aqua Crystal and Aqua Superme+ smartphones are launched in the first week of February. The Aqua Crystal comes with a price tag of Rs. 6,990 and supports 9 Indian regional languages. The 5-inch device comes powered by 1.25GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. There are few bloatware apps that even minimizes the available storage, but the user can further expand the storage with the MicroSD card slot. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based Indus OS out of the box. In the camera department, there is an 8MP autofocus rear camera and a 5MP fixed focus front camera. The 2,100mAh battery might last up to 200 hours on standby mode. The device supports dual SIM dual standby and offers all the basic connectivity options including 4G VoLTE.
