Xiaomi Mi 6 Leaked in Live Photos, Sports Mi Mix Like Wider Display
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Xiaomi will be unveiling its own Pinecone processors in the next few days. The earlier rumors suggested the Mi 5C will be one of the very first devices to come powered by Pinecone processors. Today, the Mi 5C was spotted on benchmarking site with Android 7.0 Nougat and a Snapdragon processor. In between all these leaks, the live photos of a new Xiaomi device are leaked online today. It is said to be the upcoming flagship smartphone, Xiaomi Mi 6. The device runs on the Chinese version of the Xiaomi’s in-house MIUI 8. Unlike the Mi 5, there is no Xiaomi’s Mi logo on the front of the device.
The bezel-less display of the Xiaomi Mi Mix concept device gained a lot of attention. Looking at the leaked image of Mi 6, we can find the wider display as seen on the Mi Mix. Though there are thin bezels all around the display, the device might come with a bigger display compared to the 5.15″ display on the Mi 5. Even the upcoming flagship smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6 are coming with very thin bezels that also increases the screen-to-body ratio. Xiaomi recently confirmed that the Mi Mix 2 is already in the design stage and we hope the company brings it to the mass market, unlike the Mi Mix.
It looks like Mi 6 is also skipping the physical home button and might use the Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor as seen on the Mi 5S smartphone launched in the second half of 2016. While the Mi MIX featured the front camera on the bottom bezel, it returns to its original position with the Mi 6. The Mi 6 will be using the regular earpiece and capacitive proximity sensors. Unlike the Mi Mix, the Xiaomi Mi 6 might come with the capacitive buttons. Based on the earlier rumors, we might see another variant of Mi 6 with edge display. The device will be powered by the Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor that is built on the most advanced 10nm FinFET process.
The Mi 6 will be coming in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants and there will be no expandable storage option as seen on Redmi smartphones. Once the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus are launched with the Snapdragon 835 and Exynos 8895 processors on March 21st, Xiaomi might also unveil its flagship Mi 6 smartphone soon. Last year, the company launched the Mi 5 at the Mobile World Congress, but this year, they are just skipping it. As the Pinecone processors will be unveiled on February 28th, we expect to hear some announcement over the launch timeline of Xiaomi Mi 6. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
