Xiaomi Mi MIX Bezel-less Smartphone Now Launched in Dubai
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Xiaomi’s concept smartphone Mi MIX was launched last year in China, and the availability is also limited to its home country. But now, the Xiaomi Middle East unveiled the three smartphones Redmi 4A, Redmi Note 4, and Mi MIX at an event held in Dubai. Unlike in India or other Southeast Asian countries, Xiaomi sells its devices via its official distributor, TASK FZCO in the Middle East. Wang Xiang, Xiaomi’s Senior Vice President along with Steven Wang, the Head of Expansion Marketing at Xiaomi, launched all the three devices on stage. All the devices will be in stock in the next few weeks in Dubai.
- Redmi Note 4
The Redmi Note 4 comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered Snapdragon 625 processor. It sports a unibody design and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based MIUI 8. Xiaomi also mentioned that the Android 7.0 Nougat update will be released later this year. There is a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP selfie camera on the front. It is backed by a 4,100mAh battery that is mentioned to give two-day battery life. It also comes with a fingerprint sensor placed on the rear of the device. It comes in 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variants priced at AED 659 and AED 899 respectively.
- Redmi 4A
Instead of Redmi 4, Xiaomi launched its liter variant Redmi 4A in Dubai. It is priced at just AED 389 and will also be soon available in stock. Even at this price, the device comes with a metal body and features a 5-inch HD IPS display. It packs Snapdragon 425 processor and includes 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The Redmi 4A sports a 13MP camera on the rear and a 5MP camera on the front. The 3,120 mAh battery along with less powerful specifications can give at least a day long battery life. It supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G VoLTE connectivity.
- Mi MIX
Talking about the Mi MIX, it is one of the best innovative devices launched in 2016. It comes with a bezel-less 6.4-inch display with Full HD (2040 x 1080 pixels) display and offers 17:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by the Snapdragon 821 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. In China, there is also a 4GB RAM variant with 128GB of internal storage. The 5MP front camera is placed on the bottom edge of the display. It also skips the regular ear piece and uses the piezoelectric ceramic acoustic system.
The device comes backed by a 4,400mAh battery and supports Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology. It comes with a ceramic built body, and even the frame and buttons are also made of ceramic. On the rear, we can see the 18K gold plated rings around the fingerprint sensor and the camera module. It is priced at AED 2999 (approx $815 / Rs. 54,500) which is higher than the Chinese price tag of 3999 Yuan ($582 / RS. 38,800). While Dubai is the second market to get the Mi MIX smartphone, we don’t think it will be coming to India anytime soon.
