Gionee A1 with 4GB RAM & 16MP Selfie Camera Spotted Online

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Gionee had already confirmed to unveil the new A-series smartphones at the upcoming Mobile WorldCongresss event. The company will be launching the new selfie-centric Gionee A1 and Gionee A1 Plus smartphones. Two of the fastest-growing smartphone brands, OPPO and Vivo are already riding on the selfie craze. Recently, Vivo also launched the Vivo V5 Plus smartphone with a 20MP and 8MP dual front cameras. Talking about the Gionee A1 and A1 Plus smartphones, there is other information expect their naming. However, we already got the first looks of the device, thanks to the leaked images. Now, the Gionee A1 is spotted on the benchmarking website revealing the key specifications.

While all the specifications look good on paper, the use of Helio P10 chipset doesn’t make any sense when we have upgraded Helio p15 and Heli P20 processors. Even the Gionee S8 launched at last year’s MWC also came with the same Helio P10 SoC. One good about the Gionee A1 is that it runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with the Amigo 4.0 UI laid on top. As seen on the other Gionee smartphones, the Gionee A1 might also come with a bunch of bloatware apps. It sports a 5.5-inch display offering Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. The MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor will be accompanied with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There is no information whether the device comes with a MicroSD card or not.

Coming to the camera department, there is a 13MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash. The 16MP selfie camera on the front will be the USP of GioneeA1 smartphone. Though the listing mentions the device to come with single card support, it will be a dual SIM dual standby device. Connectivity option includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm Audio port, and a microUSB port. The device also comes with the accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, pedometer, proximity, and light sensor. From the above leaked image, we can see the physical home button on the front that also comes integrated with a fingerprint sensor. Just like the Gionee A1, the Gionee A1 Plus might also sport 16MP front camera.

We expect the A1 Plus to come with a bigger display and might feature almost same specifications as on the Gionee A1 Plus. The devices will be officially launched on February 27th in Barcelona. Only then, we will be getting the official details of both the Gionee A1 and A1 Plus smartphones. Until then take these details with a pinch of salt. At the MWC 2017, OPPO also announced to unveil the new 5X camera technology which we expect to be related to 5X zoom on smartphones.
