You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

Gionee recently launched the new A-series to offer camera-centric devices. The Gionee A1 and A1 Plus are the first set of devices to launch under this new series. Before to this, the company had the Marathon M series smartphones which pack huge battery capacities. The Gionee M6S Plus is the latest smartphone from the brand that was launched yesterday in China. It is an upgraded version of the Gionee M6 Plus smartphone that came last year. It comes with a unibody metal design with rounded corners making the device look premium. On the front is a large 6-inch AMOLED display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and features a 2.5D curved glass on top.

It comes powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 653 octa-core processor clocked at 1.95Ghz coupled with Adreno 510 GPU. There is 6GB of RAM which should be more than enough for this mid-range processor to handle out. The Gionee M6S Plus will be available in 64GB and 256GB storage variants, and there is also a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion up to another 256GB. While the recently launched Gionee A1 came with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, the latest M6S Plus still runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the Amigo 3.5 OS laid on top. It supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G VoLTE connectivity.

Talking about the cameras, the Gionee M6S Plus sports a 12MP rear camera with 6P lens, f/1.9 aperture and dual tone LED flash. On the front is an 8MP selfie camera that comes with an aperture of f/2.0. Coming to the USP of the device, it is backed by a 6,020mAh non-removable battery that is rated to give 51 hours of talk time and lasts upto 843 hours on standby mode. Even the last year’s M6 Plus also came with the same battery capacity. It supports dual-chip fast charging based on Quick Charge 3.0 (9V/2A) which also controls the temperature of the device. With such a huge battery, the device measures 163.3 x 80.9 x 8.25 mm and weighs 215 grams.

The physical home button placed below the display also comes integrated with a fingerprint sensor that only detects fingerprints but also detects the heart rate. It comes with an embedded EAL4 + security certified encryption chip that makes the Gionee M6S Plus a much better choice for business usage. Unlike the other software based encryptions, the Gionee M6S Plus come with hardware encryption but this feature is exclusive to the China. Connectivity options on this device include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, 3.5mm Audio port, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. The Gionee M6S Plus comes only in Black color options.

It is priced at 3499 Yuan for the 64GB storage variant and 4299 Yuan for the 256GB storage variant. The device is currently available to pre-order, and sales begin from May 2nd only in China. As of now, there is no information about the launch of this device in the foreign markets.
