The Acer Holo 360 is an Android Powered VR Camera that can record 360-Degree Videos

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

Acer held a press conference yesterday in New York city where they announced a bunch of new products ranging from wearables to smartphones. We have already reported about the new Leap Ware smartwatch which the company launched yesterday. However, along with that, Acer also announced a new VR Camera called the Holo 360. But wait, this is not just a VR camera, it also doubles as an Android Phone.

Typically, the new Acer Holo 360 is a 360-degree camera which is designed to create 360-Degree videos just like any other VR cameras out there in the market. The footage which you capture from this camera can be viewed in any VR headset as well. However, interestingly, this VR camera also doubles as an Android powered smartphone. This is more like a camera which has Android built into it, rather than an Android phone primarily with a VR Camera.

If you have been following the news around VR technology, then you might already be familiar with some of the accessories which actually gets attached to your Android device on top, turning your Android smartphone camera into a VR camera. But this is a new approach altogether and the company claims that it is a seamless experience. It has Wi-Fi and 4G LTE support and hence the company emphasizes the fact that users can record, edit and post the VR content online just with the help of this particular device, without having to even export the content to any other device.

If you are looking for more info about this new device like which version of Android does it run, what’s the pricing and availability, etc. unfortunately, we don’t have anything else to report as of now. The company didn’t really give out much about this device just yet and it certainly looks like we have to wait to know more. However as you can see from the image, it does look like it has a small display, to begin with.Having said that, we would like to know your thoughts on this new device. Would you be interested in buying this or would you rather buy a separate camera like Gear 360, etc? Be sure to let us know by dropping a comment down below and also, stay tuned to PhoneRadar for info like this.
