You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Samsung has just launched the Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus smartphone in most markets. Both of these new devices are powered by the latest and the greatest Snapdragon 835 SoC (U.S), which is currently the flagship chipset from Qualcomm. Right now, the Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus are the only smartphones in the market to come powered with this new SoC. Now, according to the new reports which we have, it looks like the South Korean Tech Giant has already started working with Qualcomm on the next gen Snapdragon 845 for the Galaxy S9 smartphone.
Yes, according to the source, it looks like Samsung has already started working on the next version of Snapdragon flagship chipset for Qualcomm. Currently, the chip appears to be in the early stages of development and it has been reported that once the development is done, Samsung will officially start the production of the same. Given the fact that the current gen Snapdragon 835 is the most fastest chipset on the market right now for Android devices, it is very interesting to see what this new chipset will bring to the table.
The current gen Snapdragon 835 SoCs are 10nm processors and we know how fast it can be. If the rumors are to be considered, it looks like the new alleged Snapdragon 845 will be 7nm processors. However, considering the fact that the S8 and the S8 Plus have just launched, it may sound like it is too early to start working on these chipsets. However, a lot of work and development goes into making these chipsets and any given amount of time is less.
Having said that, you as a consumer don’t have to worry about this just yet. If you are in the market for a new top of the line smartphone, then you already have the Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus. Currently, they are the best of what Samsung has to offer. As mentioned earlier they are either powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895 depending on the region and comes with 4GB of RAM. The highlight is, however, the display on the front which the company is calling the infinity display.
The rear camera on both of these devices remain unchanged from last year, but Samsung has indeed made some changes to the software processing, etc. Hence you can expect a comparatively better quality in some cases. The front camera is now bumped upto 8MP and it is now even better for your selfies. Having said that, we would like to your thoughts on this.
