Vivo has launched the selfie-centric Vivo V5 and V5 Plus smartphones here in India. In the next couple of days, the company will also launch the Vivo V5S smartphone. The Vivo V5 Plus came with dual camera setup on the front featuring 20MP and 8MP sensors. Actually, the Vivo V5 Plus is the same Vivo X9 that was launched in November in China. While the company is launching the Vivo V5S in India on April 27th, soon we will also see a new smartphone launch in China. based the rumors, the upcoming device is expected to be named as Vivo X9S Plus.

It will continue with all-metal unibody design as seen with earlier launched Vivo X9 smartphones. The Snapdragon 660 SoC from Qualcomm has been in the leaks for quite a few months. It is said to power the upcoming OPPO smartphone, Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and now the Vivo X9S Plus. This new Snapdragon processor will be built on the 14nm process and packs custom Kryo cores as seen on the flagship Snapdragon 820 and 835 processors. It will be accompanied with the Adreno 512 GPU to look after the graphics performance.

The leaks to hinted the Snapdragon 660 SoC to support dual-channel LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.1 storage. On the connectivity front, it supports  X10 LTE baseband that might give decent download and upload speeds. We expect to see the same dual-camera setup on the front for DSLR-like Bokeh effect for selfies. Along with the Vivo X9S Plus, the company might also launch the Vivo X9S as the upgraded version of the Vivo X9. The Vivo X9 Plus came with a front-facing physical home button with the embedded fingerprint sensor.

It sports a 5.88-inch display with the same Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is Snapdragon 653 (MSM8976Pro) octa-core processor clocked at 1.95GHz and coupled with Adreno 510 GPU. It packs 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There is a 20MP + 8MP dual cameras on the front and a 16MP single camera on the rear. The 4,000mAh non-removable battery on this device also supports fast charging. Talking about the Vivo X9S Plus, we don’t expect the company to launch this device outside of China, at least with the same name.
