Huawei will be launching the new Mate 10 smartphones on October 16th in Munich, Germany. According to Evan Blass, the company is expected to launch the device in four different variants including Mate 10 (Alps), Mate 10 Lite (Rhone), and Mate 10 Pro (Blanc). While there is no confirmation, the fourth variant codenamed as Marcel might be the Mate 10 Pro Porsche Design. Today, the Mate 10 Pro was spotted in a press render revealing its design. Firstly, the Mate 10 Pro will sport FullView display with 18:9 aspect ratio.

While the Mate 10 Lite will be launched with Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) resolution, the Mate 10 Pro might offer Quad HD+ (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. On the rear of the device, we can spot the dual camera setup with LED flash and laser autofocus. Huawei also continues its partnership with Leica over the development of the dual camera photography. Interestingly, both the rear-facing sensors on the Mate 10 Pro will be coming with f/1.6 aperture. Recently, LG launched the LG V30 as the world’s first smartphone to feature f/1.6 lens.

The company has already confirmed the upcoming Mate 10 smartphones to be powered by the new Kirin 970 processor. It also includes a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) and is marketed as the world’s first artificial intelligence (AI) smartphone chipset. According to Huawei, the Kirin 970 with the NPU can process 2,005 images per minute compared to just 97 images per minute without the NPU. The latest leaks also revealed the Mate 10 smartphones to come with Samsung DeX like feature for using the smartphone as a desktop computer by connecting it to the monitor.

It will be also compatible with a number of Miracast-powered laptop shells such as the Miraxess Mirabook. The smartphone will be running on Android 8.0 Oreo based EMUI out of the box. It also packs a huge 4,000 mAh battery that also supports Huawei’s SuperCharge fast charging technology. With the IP67 certification, the device will be water and dust resistant. We can expect even more leaks about the Mate 10 device in the coming days. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
