Nokia 6 Starts Receiving Android 7.1.2 Nougat Update
HMD Global has recently confirmed all the Nokia Android smartphones to get Android 8.0 Oreo update before the end of this year. Even the company also promised to release the Android P update after its public release in 2018. Today, the Nokia 6 has received the Android 7.1.2 Nougat update along with October Android security patch update. The users can manually check for this new update by opening Settings > About Phone > System Update.
Sony Xperia Touch Projector Launched in the U.S. for $1,700
More than seven months after unveiling the Xperia Touch projector at MWC 2017, Sony today launched it in the U.S for a whopping price of $1699. Unlike other basic projectors, the Xperia Touch is an interactive projector that can transform any flat surface into a touchscreen and can project from 23-inches up to 80-inches on the wall. Along with Google Play support, the interactive projector also offers support for PlayStation 4 Remote Play. It features a 13MP camera for video calls and sports stereo speakers setup.
Microsoft Edge Browser now Available for Android
Just a week after launching the preview version of the Edge browser on iOS, Microsoft made its own internet also available for the Android devices. It is now listed on Play Store as an unreleased version. While the preview version is available for all the smartphones running on Android 4.4 KitKat and above, the users might find few bugs in this unreleased version. The app also features the data sync option to continue browsing on mobile from where you left on the Windows 10 computer.
OPPO F5 Smartphone India Launch Date Revealed
OPPO has already announced to unveil the OPPO F5 smartphone with 18:9 display on October 26th in the Philippines. Today, the company also confirmed the launch date of OPPO F5 in India as November 2nd. Based on the leaks, the device will sport a large 6-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio on the front. On the rear, there will be a 20MP single camera with LED flash. Just like its predecessor, the OPPO F5 might also sport dual selfie cameras on the front. With the minimal bezels, the fingerprint sensor is now placed on the rear.
Samsung May Launch Upgraded Bixby 2.0 Next Week
After debuting with the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus smartphones, Samsung started offering the in-house Bixby AI with wide-range devices. However, the voice recognition on Bixby is still below par when compared to Google Assistant and Apple Siri. However, it got some unique features which make it stand out of the crowd. Just a few day after the company has appointed a new executive for the development of Bixby AI, the latest report hints the second-gen Bixby to launch in the next few days. With the Bixby 2.0, the company is expected to support third-party services and will expand beyond smartphones.
Renders of Two New Moto Mods Leaked
At the MWC event held in early 2017, Lenovo-owned Motorola unveiled several new Moto Mods for the Moto Z series smartphones. Now, Evan Blass has posted the press renders of the Amazon Alexa speaker and the Polaroid Insta-share printer on Twitter. With the Alexa speaker, the Moto Z smartphone can be turned in to a handheld Echo smart speaker. On the other hand, the Polaroid Insta-share printer can print out a physical copy of the photograph taken with the device.
All 2018 iPhone to Abandon Touch ID
With the iPhone X, Apple introduced the all-new Face ID, which replaces the already popular Touch ID. However, the new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus still sports the Touch ID on the front. However, the new report suggests the 2018 iPhones to completely abandon the Touch ID and might to go with the more secure Face ID. If the Face ID feature on iPhone X gives reliable output, then it might also be an end to the under-glass fingerprint scanning technology.
Mate 10 Porsche Design Confirmed, to Run on Android 8.0 Oreo
Huawei will reportedly launch four new smartphones under Mate series called as Mate 10, Mate 10 Lite, Mate 10 Pro, Mate 10 Porsche Design. There are several leaks about the three Mate 10 devices. Today, the company has confirmed its partnership with Porsche Design which hints the fourth device to be the Mate 10 Porsche Design. All the Mate 10 devices will be running on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with EMUI 6.0 on top. The official launch event will be held on October 16th in Munich, Germany.
