Vivo V7+ to Launch in China as Vivo Y79
Two new Vivo Y-series smartphones – Vivo Y79 & Vivo Y79a are now listed on TENAA. The Vivo Y79 is actually the same Vivo V7+ smartphone launched last month in India. It comes with a 5.99-inch FullView display with HD+ resolution. Both the variants come features Snapdragon 450 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. In the camera department, there is a 16MP camera on the rear and a 24MP camera on the front.
Redmi Note 4 & Redmi 4 Now Available at Big Bazaar
After launching the Mi Homes and Mi Preferred Partner stores, Xiaomi now partnered with Big Bazaar to increase its offline reach. However, only the popular Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4 smartphones will be available at Big Bazaar. The ICICI Bank customers can also take advantage of the no-cost EMI on both these devices. A few Xiaomi smartphones are also sold through major retail chains like Poorvika, Big C, LOT, UniverCell, E-Zone, Croma, and Vijay Sales.
Razer’s Gaming Smartphone Teased, to Launch on Nov 1st
Razer, the maker of gaming laptops & its peripherals has teased the launch of its first ever smartphone. To be specific, the company will be unveiling a new gaming smartphone on November 1st in the U.S. The teaser image suggest it to can be used for watching, listening, and playing. Back in January 2017, Razer acquired the maker of Robin smartphone. We expect the Razer Phone to run on Android instead of a proprietary OS.
Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition Launched in Malaysia
A couple of months back, Samsung launched the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 as Galaxy Note Fan Edition in South Korea. Today, the company launched the Galaxy Note FE in Malaysia. It is priced at MYR2,599. Apart from the smaller the 3,200mAh battery, the smartphone offers same specifications as Galaxy Note 7. It will go on sale starting October 25th via carriers and Samsung retail stores.
Apple Partners with LG Display For a Foldable iPhone
Samsung has already mentioned launching the foldable smartphone under the Galaxy Note series in 2018. Now, the latest report suggests Apple to partner with LG for the development of the foldable display panels for the iPhones. The production of the foldable iPhone panels will begin only from 2020. Currently, Samsung is providing the OLED panels for the all-screen iPhone X smartphones.
Huawei Mate 10 Lite European Pricing Leaked
Huawei will soon launch the Nova 2i smartphones as Mate 10 Lite for the global markets. While the design and specifications are already known, today, the Dutch retailer Belsimpel has leaked the price of the device for the European markets. It comes with a price tag of €349 and will go on sale by the end of this month. The Mate 10 Lite comes with a FullView display with 18:9 aspect ration. There are also dual cameras on the front and rear of the device.
Facebook announces $199 ‘Oculus Go’ standalone VR headset
At the ongoing Oculus Connect event, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook has unveiled a new mobile VR headset called “Oculus Go.” It costs just $199 and the shipping will begin early next year. It comes with a smaller controller that looks similar to the Gear VR’s controller. The headset comes with a Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display and offers spatial audio. The Oculus Go Dev kits will be available in November.
Nokia 9 with Dual Cameras Revealed In 3D Renders
HMD Global is rumored to launch flagship Nokia 9 along with Nokia 2 and Nokia 7 smartphones at the MWC 2018 event. The unofficial 360-degree renders of the Nokia 9 revealed the device to sport glossy body with dual cameras on the rear and slimmer bezels on the front. Much like other flagship devices, the Nokia 9 also skips offering the 3.5mm audio port. The fingerprint sensor is also placed on the rear of the device.
Airtel to Buy the Consumer Mobile Business of Tata Teleservices
Tata Sons has today confirmed selling its consumer mobile business to Bharti Airtel. With this acquisition, Airtel will get the access to 178.5 MHz spectrum in the 850, 1800, and 2100 MHz bands. The company is also looking to merge the enterprise business including enterprise, fixed line, and broadband with the Tata Sky. Earlier this year, Vodafone India and Idea cellular also announced to merge as a single company.
