Microsoft Surface Book 2 Launched
Microsoft announced the Surface Book 2 in 13.5″ and 15″ variants. The 13.5″ base variant is priced at $1,499, while the 15″ base variant costs $2,499. This 2-in-1 notebook is powered by the 8th-gen Intel Core i7/i5 processors and offers 256GB/512GB/1TB SSD storage. According to the company, the Surface Book 2 will last up to 17 hours during continuous video playback. In terms of connectivity, it includes two USB 3.0 Type-A ports and one USB Type-C port.
JioCinema Now Available on the Web
Reliance Jio offers free access to the Jio suite of apps for its customers. Unlike their competitors, most of the Jio apps are limited to Android and iOS users. Most of the premium services like Spotify, Saavn, Apple Music, & Google Play Music are also available through web and desktop apps. Today, Reliance Jio has made the JioCinema available on the Web. The users can watch the movies and TV shows on their computer by visiting jiocinema.com. With this new addition, the JioCinema is now available Android, iOS, Android TV, Apple TV, Amazon Fire Stick, Web, and Tizen Phones.
Lenovo Confirms Android 8.0 Oreo Update for K8 Series by June 2018
Lenovo is latest smartphone manufacturer to reveal the Android 8.0 Oreo update roadmap for its devices. Out of many Lenovo smartphones launched in 2017, only the Lenovo K8, K8 Note, and K8 Plus will be upgraded to the Oreo. With the launch of K8 devices, the company shifted from using its in-house Vibe UI to stock Android UI. Even with the stock UI, the company mentioned the Android 8.0 Oreo update for K8 devices will be available by July 2018.
Nokia 7 Renders Leaked, Might Launch with ZEISS optics
Based on the earlier leaks, HMD Global will soon launch the Nokia 2, Nokia 7, and Nokia 9 smartphones. Now, the Nokia 7 smartphone is spotted in the leaked render. Interestingly, the company is going to unveil a new product on October 19th in China. If the leaks are to believed, we might be seeing the Nokia 7 tomorrow. Even the Nokia 6 Chinese launch happened way before its global launch. It might come with a 5.2-inch display and Snapdragon 630 octa-core processor.
OPPO F5 to Launch with 12MP Dual Selfie Cameras
OPPO F5 will be launching in India in the first week of November. The latest leak revealed the device sport a 20MP single rear camera and 12MP dual selfie cameras. It will come with a 6-inch display with Full HD+ resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. A few leaks mentioned the OPPO F5 to come powered by Snapdragon 660 SoC. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with the customized ColorOS laid on top. With the large form factor, the device house a 4,000mAh battery.
Google to Release Android 8.1 Oreo in the Coming Weeks
Earlier today, Google announced the Android 8.1 Oreo update to be arriving soon for the Pixel smartphones. The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will be benefitted from the Pixel Visual Core chipset only after updating to the Android Oreo 8.1. It will first arrive with the developer preview of Android 8.1 Oreo. As of now, there is not much information about the Android 8.1.
Xiaomi Expects 2017 to Be Its Best Year
From the last couple of years, Xiaomi has been facing some heat in China from its local rivals like Huawei, OPPO, and Vivo. However, the latest sales numbers might change the mood. According to the latest reports, Xiaomi will be shipping more than 90 million units by the end of this year. The company has shipped more 10 million units in September alone. The company is also aiming to be the largest smartphone brand in China by 2020.
Google Calendar Gets a Fesh New Look on the Web
Google has announced the Google Calendar web version to now come with Material Design alongside a few new features. There is a ‘Use New Calendar’ button in blue color to manually switch to the new version. In the enterprise version, G Suite admins get new options to mentioned more details about the meeting rooms like room size and seating info. The user can also add rich formatting and hyperlinks in the events.
