Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 Bezel-less Smartphone Launch in India for Rs. 35,999

Back in March 2016, Xiaomi launched Mi 5 flagship smartphone in India. Almost 20 months after the Mi 5 launch, today Xiaomi India has launched a new flagship smartphone called Mi MIX 2. It is the successor to last year’s Mi MIX and was first unveiled last month in China. Just like its predecessor, the new Mi MIX 2 also comes with a bezel-less display. However, this new smartphone offers longer 18:9 aspect ratio and is even good for single-hand usage. It comes with a ceramic body and is blended on to all the four edges.
The power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge and are made of ceramic. While the original Mi MIX came with a cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustic technology backed virtual earpiece, the new Mi MIX 2 comes with the regular earpiece but is hidden under the display. Since there is no top bezel, the infrared proximity sensor is now replaced with an ultrasonic proximity sensor. Talking about the front facing camera, there is a 5MP sensor for selfies which sits on the bottom bezel.
It sports a 5.99-inch display with Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor clocked at 2.45GHz and comes coupled with Adreno 540 GPU. It includes 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. Just like the other flagship Xiaomi smartphones, there is no MicroSD card slot on Mi MIX 2 for storage expansion. Unlike the original Mi MIX, the Mi MIX 2 is missing the 3.5mm audio jack.
In terms of optics, there is a 12MP Sony IMX386 sensor on the rear with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, and 4-axis OIS. The 5MP front-facing camera now comes with the facial recognition support and also offers 36 beauty modes. The Mi MIX 2 comes with dual SIM card slot and supports VoLTE connectivity. The smartphone is backed by a 3,400mAh non-removable battery and supports Quick Charge 3.0 using the 9V/2A (18W) power adapter. It measures 151.8 x 75.5 x 7.7 mm and weighs 185 grams.
