Huawei Nova 2s with Kirin 960 SoC & Four Cameras Goes Official in China

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

After introducing the Nova series at the IFA 2016 event, Huawei has already launched 5 different devices under this series. Now, the company launched the sixth device in the Nova series called Huawei Nova 2s. A couple of months,  Huawei launched the Nova 2i with four cameras and mid-range specifications. Now, the new Nova 2s also offers four cameras but packs high-end specifications and superior build quality. It comes with a metallics frame and a reflective glass back body.

As seen on the Honor V10 (a.k.a Honor View 10), the Nova 2s also comes with the front-facing fingerprint sensor. It sports a 6-inch FullView IPS display with Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Instead of the latest Kirin 970 AI-powered chipset, the device packs the last-gen Kirin 960 octa-core processor. The device will be available in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants and offers 64GB of internal storage. There is also a MicroSD card slot for expanding the storage up to 256GB.

Talking about the cameras, the Huawei Nova 2s offers 20MP & 16MP sensors on the rear with f/1.8 aperture. For selfies, there is a 20MP + 2MP dual camera setup on the front with f/2.0 aperture. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo-based EMUI 8.0 out of the box. With the in-house Huawei Histen 4.0 sound algorithm and a dedicated AK4376A audio chip, the Nova 2s should be offering Hi-Fi audio output. The power button comes with a textured finish to distinguish itself from the volume rocker.

The smartphone is backed by a 3,340mAh non-removable battery and there is no information about the fast charging support. Connectivity options on this device include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port. The power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge. It measures 156.9 x 75.1 x 7.5 mm and weighs 169 grams. With the built-in NFC support, the Nova 2s can be used for making mobile payments via Huawei Pay.

Coming to the pricing, the Huawei Nova 2s is priced at 2699 Yuan for the 4GB RAM variant and is currently available for registrations. The sales of the device will begin from December 12th and is only limited to the Chinese market.
