You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

After announcing the Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform at the ongoing Snapdragon Technology Summit, now the company has revealed complete details about its new mobile processors for the 2018 flagship Android smartphones. The Snapdragon 845 is the successor to last year’s Snapdragon 835 which powers most of the Android flagship smartphones launched till date. Just like its predecessor, the new Snapdragon 845 is also built using the 10nm FinFET process.

Xiaomi has already confirmed to launch its flagship Mi 7 with Snapdragon 845 in the first half of 2018. However, the rumors mentioned the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will be the first smartphone to use the Snapdragon 845 chipset. Compared to the Snapdragon 835, the Snapdragon 845 offers 30%  better graphics performance and it is also 30% more power efficient. It comes equipped with Adreno 630 Visual Processing Subsystem (no more GPU?) for improved graphical performance.

While the Snapdragon 835 used the Kryo 280 CPU, the new Snapdragon 845 is fitted with Kryo 385 CPU. It even comes with Adreno 630 GPU which offers the earlier mentioned 30% boost in graphics performance. The Spectra 280 ISP on this processor allows the devices to record HDR content in 4k resolution. With the Snapdragon 845, Qualcomm is offering dual SIM dual VoLTE functionality.

The Snapdragon X20 LTE modem also supports Gigabit LTE with speeds up to 1.2Gbps, which is 20% higher than the 1Gbps speed offered by Snapdragon X16 LTE modem.
