Exclusive: Samsung to Launch Galaxy J6 at Rs 12,990 & Rs 15,990 on 21st May in India
Samsung will be launching a new mid-range smartphone in India on May 21st. The all-new Galaxy J6 will be competing with the other mid-range smartphones from the Chinese brands like OPPO and Xiaomi. The Galaxy J6 will be the first J-series smartphone to sport Infinity display. According to our source, we got to know some exclusive information about this device. The Galaxy J6 comes in 3GB and 4GB RAM variants and will be priced at Rs. 12,990 and Rs. 15,990 respectively.
While there is no confirmation, the leaks suggest the Galaxy J6 to offer Super AMOLED Infinity display and Exynos 7870 octa-core processor. Even with the longer 18.5″9 aspect ratio, the device comes with relatively thick bezels on top and bottom. While the 3GB RAM variant comes with 32GB of internal storage, the 4GB RAM variant offers 64GB of internal storage. There will also be a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion on this device.
In the camera department, we might be looking at a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. Both these cameras come accompanied by a LED flash. The device comes with Samsung Mall and new ‘Chat Over Video’ features. We also should also see India-centric features like S-Bike and Ultra Data Saving modes. It will be running on Android 8.0 Oreo with Samsung Experience skin laid on top. The fingerprint sensor will be placed on the rear of the device.
For the official specifications of Galaxy J6 smartphone, we have to wait few more days. With these specifications and above mentioned price tags, the company should be able to overcome the Chinese dominance in the budget segment. Unlike the Chinese brands, there won’t be any flash sales for the Galaxy J6 smartphone. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
