Vivo X21 Smartphone with In-display Fingerprint Sensor Launched in India for Rs 35,990
As announced earlier, Vivo has officially launched the Vivo X21 smartphone today in India. The company has already accepted the pre-bookings for this device. The Vivo X21 will be costing Rs 35,990 in India and will be sold online via Flipkart. It comes with the same specifications as seen on the Chinese variant. It is the first smartphone in India to come with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
While its exciting new technology, the device is slow to recognize when compared to conventional capacitive sensors. The device comes with an Aluminum frame and curved back glass. It sports a 6.28-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. With the notch display, the device will come with 90.3% screen-to-body.
Under the hood is the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE Mobile Platform coupled with Kryo 260 CPU and Adreno 512 GPU. Compared to the regular Snapdragon 660 processor seen on the Nokia 7 Plus, the Snapdragon 660 AIE is mentioned to offer enhanced AI features. It offers 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage that can be further expandable using the MicroSD card slot.
Along with in-display fingerprint sensor, the Vivo X21 also comes with software-based face unlock which is mentioned to be not so accurate. In terms of optics, the Vivo X21 sports dual rear cameras featuring 12MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 5MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, the device comes equipped with a single 12MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture.
It is backed by a 3,200mAh non-removable battery that also supports 9V/2A (18W) fast charging technology. The device supports dual SIM dual standby using the hybrid SIM card slot. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. The device runs on latest Android 8.1 Oreo-based Funouch 4.0 OS out of the box.
